Am I the only one who noticed this, but miyuki be getting allot of goosebumps lately when sawamura pitches

Unkrowned • 2 years ago

I'm so disappointed in Kataoka for no longer sticking to 'Team before the ace' as he didn't switch Furuya even after giving away 5 runs until Ochiai of all people had to step up. Felt good seeing Eijun performing fantastic but terrible with how his
own team heck even Miyuki was so shocked in the sense of them not
expecting anything from him.

Cross • 2 years ago

yah that moment all of them only have eyes for furuya's pitching and goal, they forgotten that there is a really true Ace in the making that waiting for a spotlight, really the wait resulted into fruition

Xiao Tsung Li • 2 years ago

i felt same and then gf pointed out that the Coach was reading his Personal Journal the nite before an probably had too many emotions tied to furuya before the game wanting reach those goals he had written

DELUSION • 2 years ago

Still one of my favorite episode... Sawamura getting the recognition he deserves

Gio • 2 years ago

Kataoka: - I won't sacrifice the team for Furuya's growth.
Also Kataoka: proceeds to sacrifice the team for Furuya's growth

Xiao Tsung Li • 2 years ago

i think it had alot to do with reading his personal journal the night before and those goal wrote had him where he was to emotional

EXPLOSION! • 2 years ago

ikr, dunno what he was expecting from furuya in that situation.

Itakugi • 2 years ago

Even the Ochiai Coach need to wake him up like wtf, Kataoka Coach just contradicting himself

Cross • 2 years ago

the fact that ochiai the one who said that he needs to stop kataoka from giving up more runs was much more surprised me since he is the one that started he wanted to sacrifice the team just for furuya, irony lol

powpowpow • 1 year ago

ochiai only wanted to sacrifice the team for furuya only at the fall tournament, he didnt stated that he'd do it on future tournaments

Cross • 1 year ago

well cant argue with that but for me ochiai trait have a potential to be an inside antagonist to the anime, imagine him having a hidden agenda to add more obstacles to the mc plus kataoka retiring will make more interesting plot in the anime but still i kinda liked how it went for him during this 2nd act of the anime

Bases loaded with fourth batter up to bat yet he wasn't even nervous nor pressured. I hate how the team only appreciates Sawamura in times like this.

True! I think Only Kanemaru “somewhat” believes in Sawamura eversince yips days after what Chris senpai told him. Ugh! I was so dissapointed at Coach Kataoka and loved Coach Ochiai here. Even Miyuki forgot in a while that there is another pitcher that can turn the game for their favor instead of putting up with a garbage pitch of Furuya.. this is just so frustrating.

Such a Gratifying Episode for Those that have had Sawamura back thru this whole grind

Hana Nakahara • 2 years ago

waiting for Eijun to become the ace

Let's go sawamura

kdjsquid • 9 months ago

I keep coming back to rewatch and I always found it crazy that every other team they went against is wary of Sawamura and acknowledges his pitching ability almost immediately after their at-bats but it took Seido 2 seasons (a year and a half) to realize this

Lao Madmad • 1 year ago

furuya words written in his book got to kataoka heart and he may have forgotten what he said before to ochiai, and we cant actually blame kataoka coz furuya have been pitching well on the previous matches. but nonetheless we will finally get to see the real ace on the mound

Yna Lilith • 2 years ago

Well the first time I watched this, I got overly frustrated as to why Coach Kataoka pushed Furuya to his limits when he could've switched him early on after seeing his kind of play on that game. I found it selfish at first. I mean it's unfair for the other pitchers like Sawamura and Nori who also deserve a chance to maybe turn the game around. But after rewatching this, just a little, I somehow understood why the Coach did that. Yes, he said that the team comes first before the ace, but maybe he wants to test how Furuya will overcome his slump and if he can really push through his goals. Especially hindi pa naman yon ticket for the Koshien Stadium. So siguro gusto nya sana ibigay yong game na yon for Furuya. It's like giving him a lesson through experience on what and how an ace should perform on the mound. Though it's really kind of unfair for the others who really wanted to win, but I understand how the coach felt. It was a good thing coach Ochiai was there.

Coach Ochiai here proved to us that he’s a good coach. I did not expect him to do what he did but thanks to him, Coach Kataoka woke up with his dream to push Furuya further even to cause that day’s game. Ugh! He ate what he said before and I hate him for that. Even Miyuki. I just hope that Eijun Sawamura will continue to grow even better and become the BEST PITCHER IN JAPAN.

The moment sawamura was switched to pitcher made my mood switch too... he gave mi goosebumps... i love the moment 20:50...

Man Sawamura is the best

Chainsaw • 7 months ago

Now that was an worthy episode after a long long time. Had watery eyes from the time when Sawamura walked to the mound and pitched like a true ACE.

sushi • 8 months ago

People are dogging on furuya too much. The man arguably became the second best highschool pitcher in the country and came back feeling all the expectations and pressure around him. Just like mei said, he's feeling everything and isn't able to overcome it. Miyuki and coach also knows this.

Liza • 9 months ago

Miyuki truly appreciated and thought high of eijun's growth for so many times but how could he still be surprised of seeing eijuns play! :/
My heart really aches to see how coach and mikuyi acts so forgetful & ungrateful towards Eijun's excellent play sometimes! :/

TheMoonlight_girl • 10 months ago

It’s like seto said in the previous episodes, a pitcher of sawamura’s skill level is the relief pitcher no wonder seido is strong. 💪
But no matter how many times I rewatch I still can’t forgive the coach 😑

Fairamee • 1 year ago

Kataoka putting his hand on Eijun's head was everything 😣

Procrastinating • 1 year ago

Sawamura sure knew his role picking up the slack and they're finally realizing how strong he is lmao even though he saved the day a few times already. Really enjoyed the animation for his pitches this episode maybe because he was so focused.

sadmayonaise • 1 year ago

mannn Kataoka is getting more and more soft each episode, he was quick to change out Tanba in the first season now he read Furuya's goal and let him get 5 runs :/. If Ochiaci didnt say anything to him i doubt he would change Furuya out. Also i dont know aboout ya'll but i see Sawamura more reliable than Furuya. Not only can he do a lot of pitches its control is great now since most of it is in the strike zone. Furuya on the other hand can only do fastball and breaking ball, since koshien his 150km/h pitch seems nothing since there's someone like him with better control, and Furuya have shit control man gets balls so frequently im getiing bored. zzzzz

kataoka: no sacrificing team for furuya
also kataoka: not doing anything after runs and walks from their ace.

he pulls sawamura off his best inning during the finals of yakushi vs seidou to put furuya there JUST BECAUSE he has the ACE number. pulling off a pitcher on his best condition ever. one of the stupidest things kataoka ever did. there's no punishment as to why sawamura was pulled off, it's only because furuya needs some showtime.

this isn't even sacrificing for the team, this is destroying both furuya and the team's morale.
just because they got in koshien doesn't mean they're still good at the next tourney.

the author is forcing the plot. breaking kataoka's ideals, whole dugout doesn't mind, even ochiai stepping and telling kataoka their ace will crumble if there's no change, just to make sawamura shine more brightly, and then ignore everything that happened and only remember that sawamura pitched perfectly :D

Black Fox Spirit • 1 year ago

This episode is most satisfying kantako coach realized now how important is sawamura and apologies and miyuki also realized he can bring fallen team comeback from his pitching. 14:15 so satisfying to re-watch from that part.... he scold miyuki hahahaaha

munch • 1 year ago

it pisses me off that sawamura is being truly recognized only now when in fact there were many matches where he came in clutch. also coach is pretty much going against his words and i understand it has to do with reading furuya journal and maybe even wanting him to grow but it also almost costed them a match. phew now that i ranted i shall rewatch this ep bc our boi sawamura deserved this!! (☝︎ ՞ਊ ՞)☝︎

for f*ck sake im fucking disappointed on furuya know your limit dude aiming higher is good but you should take it slowly, you're dragging the team down.

shakey • 2 years ago

Nothing to dislike about this episode :) other than the fact the coach has seemingly came to the point where he thinks Furuya is the undisputed first pitcher

RimuruS • 2 years ago

so many things to dislike in this episode , like furuya's thrash pitching,
